FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre optics, specifically to light guides having radiation polarization preservation properties and bending resistance, which can be used in creating sensors of physical quantities (gyroscopes) used in inertial navigation systems, in which it is necessary to wind optical fibre (fibre) on small diameters (from 2 to 7 mm) and low values of induced optical losses during bending. High-aperture single-mode bending-resistant optical fibre operating at wavelength of 1550 nm includes a central region of a glass core doped with germanium, with a numerical aperture of not less than 0.22, round loading rods made of quartz, doped with phosphorus and boron, placed at a distance from the centre of the light-conducting strand equal to or greater than two diameters of the light-conducting strand, providing birefringence of not less than 7.5 × 10-4 and h-parameter value of not more than 0.4 × 10-5 1/m.

EFFECT: reduction of induced optical losses caused by macrobends when winding the optical fibre while maintaining polarization of radiation to small diameters (from 2 to 7 mm).
