FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a driver assistance system of a ground vehicle during overtaking. System includes: technical vision means in the form of a video camera installed behind the windshield glass in the area of its cleaning with windshield wipers, on-board data transmission means, means of displaying information and means of wireless data transmission between vehicles. Means of wireless data transmission are located on the vehicle in front and the one following behind, moving along the same lane. Vehicle in front and the following vehicle is fitted with a global navigation satellite system receiver, a radar, an analytical module and a transmitting module with a video camera. Analytical module analyzes incoming information on distance to oncoming vehicle, speed of oncoming vehicle, external conditions of relief and transmits it to vehicle following behind. Information display facilities are located on the instrument panel of each vehicle.
EFFECT: higher reliability and speed of the driver assistance system of a ground vehicle during overtaking.
