FIELD: forestry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry, particularly to forest pathology diagnostics. Samples are prepared in the form of tree crowns shoots during the vegetation period, they are placed in an opaque clamping device. Samples are irradiated through a window in a clamping device with diameter of 4 mm with a spectral flux in band of 400–600 nm in a pulsed mode with controlled intensity. Signals reflected from samples are received by high-resolution spectrometer, measured signals are converted into digital form with adjustable resolution of reports, signals are recorded into buffer memory, calculating cross-correlation functions of current signal with reference signals of forest pathological samples from database, type of forest pathological affection is identified by width of cross-correlation function at level of 0.1 of maximum value.

EFFECT: higher validity of final evaluation results.
