FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: tire tread wear degree indicator comprises numbers in stepped recesses of side and central parts of tire of variable height. Elements of the indicator located in the side part of the tire are made with a stepped transition from the shaping surface of the tire to the bottom of the groove of the tread pattern. Stepped transition of indicator elements is characterized by inclined planes from horizontal surface of one height to horizontal surface of another height. In a particular case, the tire tread wear degree indicator has three inclined recesses in the tire side part and one recess in the tire centre, indicating residual tread depth. Figures of the indicator are made with recesses and are located inside the zone of the corresponding height of the projection relative to the surface of the main groove of the tire tread pattern.
EFFECT: facilitation of visual determination of tire tread wear degree without violation of tread rib integrity and improvement of snow and mud removal along tread grooves during tire operation.
