SUBSTANCE: wear indicator belongs to the tire industry and serves to monitor the degree of wear of the tire tread during vehicle operation. The indicator contains two rows of vertical protrusions with different heights on the side edges of the annular groove of the tire tread pattern and three numbers on the bottom of the annular groove. As the tire wears, the tread surface reaches the top edge of one of the ridges that point to the number at the bottom of the annular groove. In this way, the residual tread depth can be determined.

EFFECT: control of the degree of tire wear without changing the tread pattern, as well as without violating the integrity of the tread rib, without complicating the removal of snow and dirt along the tread grooves during operation, and expanding the arsenal of technical means.
