SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Tire tread wear degree indicator contains numbers in variable-height protrusions. Indicator elements are made with stepped transition from the tire shaping surface to the bottom of the main groove of the tread pattern. Tire tread wear degree indicator has two inclined projections and one recess for indication of residual tread depth. Figures are made with recesses and are located inside the zone corresponding to the height of the projection relative to the surface of the main groove of the tire tread pattern. Figures of the indicator are visually marked with a frequent inclined notch on the bottom of the element.

EFFECT: ease of visual determination of tire tread wear degree without disturbance of tread rib integrity and without hindrance of snow and mud removal along tread grooves during tire operation.
