SUBSTANCE: needle protector for a medical injection device comprises an elongated sleeve portion having a longitudinal axis, wherein the elongated portion of the bushing comprises a cannula extending from the elongated portion of the bushing along the longitudinal axis, and a guide pin extending outward from the elongated portion of the bushing when viewed from the longitudinal axis. First tubular element is arranged with possibility of movement on elongated part of bushing for movement along longitudinal axis and comprises guide path, which interacts with the guide pin with the possibility of sliding, wherein the guide path is made so that the first tubular element rotates relative to the elongated part of the bushing, when the guide pin moves along the guide path, wherein the guide path comprises an end position configured to hold the guide pin. Second tubular element is located on the first tubular element so that second tubular member is movable along a longitudinal axis together with the first tubular member, wherein the first tubular member at least partially encloses the second tubular member, wherein the second tubular element comprises a contact surface for establishing contact under pressure with the injection area. Spring element presses first and/or second tubular element in distal direction relative to elongated part of sleeve so that contact surface is located at a greater distance from the elongated part of the sleeve along the longitudinal axis than the tip of the cannula when the contact surface is not in contact with the injection area under pressure. What is disclosed is a medical injection device.
