FIELD: testing; current collectors of vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: device for testing current collectors of electric rolling stock and contact wires comprises a motor, which shaft is in contact with the wheel, to which the spokes are attached, at the ends of which there is a contact wire loop fixed with the help of clamps and springs and contacting the surface of the radially oriented test contact insert. Contour of the contact wire is made in the form of an ellipse, the centre of which coincides with the axis of rotation of the wheel. Length of the major semi-axis is equal to the sum of the lengths of the minor semi-axis and the contact insert; the centre of the ellipse is located on the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the contact insert. When the major semi-axis of the ellipse coincides with the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the contact insert, the vertex of the ellipse lying on the major semi-axis of the ellipse coincides with the end of the contact insert, which is the most distant from the axis of rotation of the wheel.
EFFECT: simplified design of device for testing current collectors.
