FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a high-temperature composite charge in a TaN-HfC-SiC system and can be used in the technology of ultrahigh-temperature materials and articles made from ceramics, used to protect the most thermally loaded units and assemblies (air-jet engines, nose cones) of aircraft, in the nuclear industry, as well as in metallurgy as abrasives and tools for cutting and processing metals. Method of obtaining high-temperature charge in TaN-HfC-SiC system consists in the fact that mechanochemical activation of mixture of TaN and HfC is carried out in ball mill with hard-alloy grinding bodies from WC for 45 minutes and drum rotation speed of 400 rpm, which leads to grinding of material and formation of near-surface solid solutions. After mechanochemical activation of the mixture, SiC powder with particle size of 1-10 mcm is added in mass ratio SiC:HfC equal to 1:1.8. All components are mixed in a ball mill for 2 hours and drum rotation speed of 300 rpm. Obtained mixture has a higher diffusion coefficient, which enables to sinter the material at lower temperatures. Starting material used is TaN, HfC, SiC powders.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the process of sintering ceramic material.
