FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for synthesis of a zirconium dioxide-based mixture for producing high-temperature polycrystalline fibres which can be used to produce heat-shielding materials and filter elements for cleaning hot gases. Zirconium dioxide powder with an aluminium oxide additive is obtained via reverse heterophase coprecipitation of zirconium, yttrium and aluminium salts, followed by grinding, after which synthesis is carried out at a low temperature of 750 °C. Synthesized powder is ground by wet method in planetary mill and mixed with polymer-fibre-forming agent – fluoroplastic of “Ф-42В” grade. Present invention uses simple technology, which is practically feasible for oxide fibres with different ratio of ZrO2:Al2O3.
EFFECT: obtaining finely dispersed active zirconium dioxide powder, characterized by a polyfractional composition of submicron particles with narrow particle size distribution in range of 200 nm to 2 mcm.
