FIELD: electric communication technique.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a multiband communication device, a multiband access point and communication methods for multiband operation, specifically to multiband communication devices which operate in a plurality of frequency bands in a wireless network. Multiband communication device comprises transmitter and receiver. During operation, the transmitter transmits the "Association Request" frame to a multiband access point communication device (AP) on the same frequency band. Receiver in the process of operation receives from the multi-band communication device of the access point an Association Response frame on the specified one frequency band. Association Request frame indicates a plurality of frequency bands requested for multiband tuning. Association Response frame indicates the frequency band(s), which is successfully received or which are successfully received.

EFFECT: reduced network traffic and congestion, faster authentication and association, as well as more efficient performance of operations in a wireless network.
