FIELD: communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: multiband communication device includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter in operation transmits an "Association Request" frame in the wireless network to the multiband access point device indicating a plurality of frequency bands requested for multiband tuning. The plurality of frequency bands includes the said one frequency band and at least one other frequency band that the multiband communications device desires to use for transmission. The receiver in operation receives the “Association Response” frame in the wireless network from the multiband access point device on the specified one frequency band. The "Association Response" frame indicates the band or bands that have been successfully received or that have been successfully received by the multiband access point unit. The multiband access point unit stores a single association record that is applicable to the said one frequency band and to the said at least one other frequency band.

EFFECT: reduction in the time required for tuning and management of the corresponding association states for multiple frequency bands using a single entry.
