FIELD: energy generation of nuclear origin.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiation protection of space nuclear power plant and method of its manufacturing. Protection includes at least two internal perforated shells located in monolith of lithium hydride, and at least one neck located on external conical shell so that axis of neck is perpendicular to longitudinal axis of radiation protection. At that connection of inner perforated shells with outer conical and inner cylindrical shells is carried out by means of attachment to annular flanges. Method of making protection includes installation of radiation protection in filling device with its longitudinal axis perpendicular to axis of discharge into sealed housing of molten lithium hydride with filling neck upwards with subsequent placement of the sealed housing together with the filling device into the installation for filling the sealed housing with lithium hydride.
EFFECT: reduced weight of radiation protection.
