SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining a paging monitoring parameter performed by user equipment (UE). A paging monitoring parameter of the UE in the inactive state is determined according to the configuration situation of the extended intermittent reception (eDRX) parameter in the inactive state and the eDRX parameter in the idle state. At that, determination of the UE paging monitoring parameter in the inactive state in accordance with the configuration situation of the eDRX parameter in the inactive state and the eDRX parameter in the idle state contains in response to the fact that the eDRX parameter in the idle state is configured and the eDRX parameter in the inactive state is configured. Paging monitoring parameter for the UE in the inactive state is determined according to the first paging time window (PTW) included in the eDRX parameter in the idle state and the second PTW included in the eDRX parameter in the inactive state.

EFFECT: efficiently balancing availability and power consumption of the UE even in an inactive state.
