FIELD: wireless communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Wireless device is configured to communicate with host network node, CN, wireless device comprising: processor; and memory that stores instructions executed by processor, processor interacting with memory to execute instructions executable by processor, whereby wireless device is configured to: determine, based on current radio link conditions of current downlink (DL), need to change current coverage class (CC) to higher DL CC or lower DL CC, in which higher DL CC indicates need for at least one blind repetition more than is provided by current DL CC, and in which lower DL CC indicates need for at least one blind repetition is less than that provided by current DL CC; and based on determination of need to change current DL CC to higher DL CC, transmit indication of higher DL CC to CN node by performing cell update procedure, in which determination operation and transmission operation are performed at predetermined time until next occurrence of nominal paging group.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure that wireless device transmits information about changing its downlink channel (DL) coverage class (CC) to the network.
