FIELD: experimental microbiology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental microbiology and parasitology, is intended for co-cultivation of cysts of protozoa Blastocystis hominis and bacteria Lactobacillus spp. It can be used in studying the mechanisms of intestinal microbiocenosis reservation inside encysted protozoa, promoting optimization of microbiological monitoring and therapy of dysbiotic processes, bacteremia, endogenous infections. Suresh modified culture medium (CEM) for co-cultivation of cysts of protozoa Blastocystis hominis and bacteria Lactobacillus spp. contains per litre of distilled water: 4 g of NaCl; 3.5 g of yeast extract; 1.6 g of KH₂PO₄; 4.5 g of K₂HPO₄; 5.0 g of enzymatic peptone; 10.0 g of fermentative casein hydrolyzate; 1.0 g of Tween-80; 0.5 g of glucose; 0.2 g of L-cysteine; 0.02 g of manganese sulphate; 0.05 g of magnesium sulphate; 1.5 g of sodium acetate; 0.5 g of ammonium citrate.

EFFECT: nutrient medium provides successful encysting of protozoa Blastocystis hominis with simultaneous stable cultivation of bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus for subsequent assessment of their associative interaction.
