FIELD: paper processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce in paper an array of micron holes of controlled diameter with adjustable perforation density. Method involves exposing a sheet of paper to a pulsed electric field with intensity of 106 V/cm, created in a two-electrode cell under normal conditions, obtaining localized plasma in the form of an array of self-organized streamer discharges, arising between conducting electrodes in form of two parallel plates, equal in area and identical in geometrical parameters. Perforated sheet of paper is placed on the surface of one of two flat plates made of borosilicate glass with thickness of 1 mm, which are located at distance of 5 mm from each other, the rear surface of the glasses, which is not in contact with the paper, is coated with a conductive material with a specific resistance of less than 10–5 Ohm·m and thickness of 10 mcm, and cold streamer discharges, perforating a sheet of paper, are formed by supplying to said plates pulses of high alternating sinusoidal voltage of 50 kV with frequency equal to 14.29–19.67 kHz, pulse duration of 50 mcs and front duration of 1–20 mcs.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows expanding technological capabilities of the perforation process and simplifying it.
