FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of heat-insulating articles, namely to flexible heat-insulating refractory materials, which can be used as insulation of heating surfaces and sealing of inter-surface spaces and gaps, in particular for sealing of gap between metal housing and ceramic monoblock of catalytic neutralizers of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines. Heat-insulating material as an inorganic fibre contains a ceramic fibre consisting of aluminium oxide and silicon oxide in range of 92-95 wt.%, includes an inorganic binder – aluminium sulphate and an organic binder polyethylvinyl acetate in amount of 8-5 wt.%, with the ratio of the inorganic binder – 0.25-0.35%, organic binder – 7.75-4.65%. Aluminium sulphate is added to the fibre after a centrifugal process at rate of 30 l/min, average of 1.8 g/kg of fibre is set, the obtained fibre is deposited on the screen by vacuum under a mesh conveyor and a primary mat is formed, the mat is heat treated in a calcination furnace at temperature of 850-1,100 °C, sheet material is cut into sheets, treated with aqueous solution of polyethylvinyl acetate organic binder, material is calibrated by thickness and a layer of nonwoven material is applied.
EFFECT: invention provides reduced heat conductivity and increased mechanical strength and flexibility of the outer surface of the heat-insulating material.
