FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an adhesive composition which is free of formaldehyde, nitrogen compounds and organic polycarboxylic acids, for insulation products based on mineral wool, particularly glass wool or rock wool. The adhesive composition contains at least one non-reducing sugar and at least one metal salt and an inorganic acid. The metal salt is selected from salts of an inorganic acid and an alkali metal, an alkali-earth metal, a transition metal or a noble metal. The non-reducing sugar is di-, tri-, tetra- or pentasaccharides, particularly trehalose, saccharose, raffinose, erlose etc. The invention also relates to insulation materials based on the obtained mineral fibres, veil, as well as a method for production thereof.

EFFECT: invention solves environmental protection tasks and enables to obtain a glueing composition, particularly having a lower thickening point, as well as insulation material having a stable thickness and improved tensile strength.
