FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to experimental medicine, and can be used for diagnosis of proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) in open eye injury (OEI) in experiment. OEI is simulated by applying a standardized reproducible OEI by shot from an air rifle to domestic rabbits. On 14th and 21st day after the injury, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the injured eye of a rabbit is performed on a Siemens Magnetom Symphony 1.5 T tomograph in 3D FIESTA-C mode in the sagittal plane. If on 14th and 21st days after the injury, the MR images of the injured eye show linear hypointensive cords with fixation within the optic nerve outlet and the dentate line, then PVR is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables diagnosing PVR in OEI by simulating OEI and using MRI.
