METHOD FOR EXTENDED PRIMARY MICROSURGICAL TREATMENT OF PENETRATING SCLERAL WOUNDS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/07

Abstract RU 2791413 C1

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: scleral or corneoscleral wound is cleaned from the outside and sutured with 8/0 interrupted sutures. At the same time, a three-port subtotal vitrectomy 25G is performed with the removal of the posterior hyaloid membrane. Next, the wound of the retina and choroid is treated by endocoagulation of bleeding vessels, cleaning of the wound and alignment of the edges with a vitreotomy, thorough shave of the retina and endolaser coagulation around the wound. Then the defect of the retina and choroid is filled with autologous conditioned plasma — ACP in air. After that, tamponade is carried out with polydimethylsiloxane — silicone oil with a viscosity of 5,700 mPa⋅ with or C3F8 gas.

EFFECT: prevention of the development of severe complications and consequences of penetrating wounds of the sclera: proliferative vitreoretinopathy, retinal detachment, endophthalmitis and obtaining high functional results.
