SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine, namely to obstetrics and gynaecology. 7 days before mating females with males and throughout the entire period of pregnancy, the females are introduced as a drink α-lipoic acid (ALA) dissolved in drinking water in dose of 10 mg/kg/day. From the beginning of pregnancy, female mice are kept in cages with an enriched environment, which is a plastic ladder, a cardboard tunnel and 2 paper tissues.

EFFECT: method provides prevention of intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) and embryo resorption in laboratory mice by levelling manifestations of oxidative stress and immunoregulatory properties of antioxidanate α-lipoic acid, as well as the positive effect of the enriched environment on the metabolic processes of the body of mice, without further effect on the physiological state of the offspring, which in turn makes it possible to use the offspring for various experiments.
