FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, in particular, to control of the operating mode of electrical machines. Method for contactless excitation of a synchronous electric generator with a contactless subexciter without using permanent magnets consists in the fact that before starting the synchronous electric generator into the primary winding of the rotor subexciter, made in the form of a multipolar electromagnet of the main excitation, alternating current is supplied to create current in the coils of the main poles of the synchronous electric generator until its operating speed. Then the synchronous electric generator switches to the control mode with direct current supply to the primary winding of the subexciter.
EFFECT: efficient controlled operation of electric machine at all sections of revolutions – from ultra-low to maximum.
