FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for converting a liquid feedstock containing a target substance and impurities into a product stream containing a purified target substance, and one or more wastes containing at least a portion of the impurities. Device comprises at least two processing modules arranged in series so that the flow of raw material of the second and any subsequent modules contains a flow of product from the previous module. Each processing module contains the following components (i) - (vi): (i) liquid feed inlet (1); (ii) multi-inlet flow rate controller (4) comprising two or more variable-flow inlet valves (4a) for producing at least two liquids in a desired ratio, where one of the at least two liquids is a liquid feed; (iii) mixing means (8); (iv) device (12) for carrying out a treatment operation, separating at least a portion of impurities from a target substance; (v) means (6) for providing fluid flow through the module and (vi) switchable bypass assembly (31) configured to allow fluid to pass through the module to provide current to mixing means (8) or to provide current bypassing mixing means (8).
EFFECT: simpler and easier conversion of liquid raw material, lower risk of operator error, simpler support and fewer spare parts.
