SUBSTANCE: presented group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to pharmacology. Disclosed are methods of treating a patient having a delayed bedtime, including determining in a biological sample of the patient a genotype in the rs12188518 SNP locus and/or rs11248864 SNP locus, and, if the patient’s genotype is GG rs12188518 and/or CC rs11248864, administering to the patient a dose of tasimelteon once a day effective to shift the time of bedtime to an earlier time.
EFFECT: presented group of inventions provides treating a patient having a delayed bedtime by administering tasimelteon to a patient with genotype GG rs12188518 and/or CC rs11248864.
