SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to a method for predicting the risk of developing overweight and obesity based on analysis of circadian rhythm gene polymorphisms. Said method involves analysis of FTO, GPR61, RERE, PRAG1, RP11-775H9.2 and TFAP2B genes. Invention also relates to a method for preventing overweight and obesity, which includes the above prediction method.
EFFECT: present invention provides an informative and evidence-based method for predicting the risk of developing overweight and obesity based on gene polymorphisms.
