FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in production of carbon and alloyed steel in furnaces with acid lining. Method includes furnace filling, charge filling, its melting, oxidation period, finishing and tapping of metal into ladle. After the oxidation period and before finishing, an additional reduction period of melting is introduced, where two deoxidizing powder mixtures are used. First, a first mixture consisting of dispersed calcium-strontium carbonate (CSC) 70-80 wt.%, aluminium-containing material (ACM) 10-15 wt.% and carbon-containing material (CCM) 10-15 wt.% is added, and for the refining process, to reduce the melting point of the slag and impart fluidity to it, second deoxidizing powder mixture consisting of CCM and ACM in weight ratio of 2:1, respectively, and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) is fed onto the foamed slag.
EFFECT: invention creates favourable conditions for refining steel from oxides, development of endothermic reactions of reducing Si from SiO2, as a result of which fluidity and mechanical properties of steel are increased, melting time and consumption of electric power and ferroalloys are reduced.
