FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal chemical current sources and can be used for their development and production. Electrolyte mixture of thermal chemical current sources with an electrolyte in the form of a liquid melt based on a mixture of salts of lithium and potassium chlorides necessarily includes a thickener which prevents leakage of the electrolyte from the interelectrode space after its melting. Thickeners used are highly porous dielectric materials capable of holding the melt firmly in their structure and providing its high electrical conductivity. Problem of developing and manufacturing a thickener for an electrolyte of a thermal chemical current source is the creation in the thickener structure of the maximum number of Lewis acid centres, which cause stable binding of the molten salt electrolyte, is solved by the proposed method of making a thickener of an electrolyte of a thermal chemical current source.
EFFECT: higher binding effect of thickener based on γ-Al2O3 in relation to salt melt regardless of possible deviations of sorption properties γ-Al2O3 in separate batches, which reduces ability of liquid melt to flow from interelectrode space.
