FIELD: separation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical and food industry for separation of solid phase from liquid phase. Suspension separation device includes cylinder-taper housing, upper and lower centring plates, providing tightness of cylinder-taper housing, upper and lower units of bearings, tangential branch pipe for inlet of initial suspension, branch pipe for discharge of thickened suspension, branch pipe for removal of filtrate, filter element, drive shaft and output pipe. In the upper centring plate the upper block of bearings is installed. Lower block of bearings is installed in lower centring plate. Filtering element is installed on the filtrate discharge branch pipe and is made with possibility of rotation. In the upper part of the filtering element there is a drive shaft centred in the upper centring plate. In the lower part of the filtering element there is a discharge pipe which is centred in the lower centring plate. Filter element in the cross section has the shape of a shortened epitrochoid with the number of vertices (lobes) of at least 8.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the productivity of the suspension separation process by increasing the surface area of the filter element.
