FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of Ascophyllum nodosum (A. nodosum) or Fucus Vesiculosus brown algae extracts, which have bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties. Method for producing water-soluble powdered extracts of biologically active substances of arctic brown algae Ascophyllum Nodosum or Fucus Vesiculosus involves preliminary swelling of brown algae biomass at a water ratio of 1:12 for 1 hour at room temperature, ultrasonic treatment at temperature of 60 °C, ultrasound power 10±2 W for 30 minutes. Then algae are extracted with 40 wt.% isopropanol solution at 60 °C for 1 hour at water ratio 1:20 and centrifuged at 9,000 rpm for 5 minutes. Obtained extracts are decanted, dried at temperature of 40 °C and pressure ≤500 Pa and grinding to powdery state.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at obtaining dry extracts of Arctic brown algae, having bacteriostatic and fungistatic effects while reducing the duration of the process and without using hazardous chemicals.
