SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a dental composition in the form of a gel and a method for preparing said gel, which can be used in dental practice to reduce inflammation after oral surgery and in treating diseases of the oral mucosa with an allergic or autoimmune component. Proposed dental anti-inflammatory gel contains dexamethasone sodium phosphate as the main active ingredient, as well as auxiliary components – hydroxyethyl cellulose, glycerine and purified water, with the following ratio of components, wt.%: dexamethasone sodium phosphate – 0.1, glycerine – 3.0, hydroxyethyl cellulose – 4.0-5.0, purified water – up to 100. Method of producing said gel involves dissolving dexamethasone sodium phosphate 0.1 wt.% in a reactor with purified water. and glycerine 3.0 wt.%, then hydroxyethyl cellulose 3.0-5.0 wt.% is gradually added to the obtained solution. and mixed with an overhead propeller mixer for 30-60 minutes without heating until a transparent homogeneous gel is obtained. Use of the group of inventions enables to expand the range of preparations intended for reducing tissue oedema and reducing pain after surgical interventions in dentistry, as well as for relief of inflammatory process in diseases of oral mucosa.

EFFECT: gel formulation provides ease of use, high anti-inflammatory effect when applied topically in the oral cavity and prolonged action due to prolonged contact with the oral mucosa.
