SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to use of a composition containing at least one dual-action polymer in concentration of 0.01 wt.% to 5 wt.% of the total weight of the composition, bound to glycerol and capable of binding to at least one pro-inflammatory compound; glycerol and a suitable adjuvant for preventing or treating a local inflammatory disease and cytokine release syndrome in a subject in need thereof.
EFFECT: present invention provides a new multipurpose therapeutic approach for the prevention or treatment of topical/local inflammation, inflammatory diseases and their consequences, such as uncontrolled release of cytokines, called cytokine syndrome (CS) or cytokine release syndrome (CRS).
