FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for pulse inlet and locking of neutrons in an annular neutron accumulator and can be used in methods of increasing density and time of neutron stay in a closed volume. According to the method, a magnetic field is created in the side wall of the accumulator for the time of neutron inlet from the pulsed source at the inlet section by means of an electromagnet. For the time of neutron locking in the accumulator in the intervals between pulses of the neutron source, the magnetic field is removed. Electromagnet is placed so that the inlet section in the side wall of the accumulator is located between the poles of the electromagnet.
EFFECT: high neutron flux density.
