FIELD: cold and ultracold neutrons production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for producing cold and ultracold neutrons by controlling particle beams by reflection from a moving layered structure. Neutron reflectors are made in the form of a layered structure, which is a system of successive periodic structures with a decreasing spatial period in the direction deep into the structure from its surface. Coaxial hemispherical neutron reflectors are pivotally attached to the brackets located on the remote spokes of the wheel and can rotate around its axis. As an embodiment, neutron reflectors have a flat reflective surface.
EFFECT: increase in the flux of cold and ultracold neutrons and an expansion of the realizable intervals of the initial and final velocity (energy) of neutrons.
