FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, neurology, epileptology, clinical neurophysiology. An intraoperative electrocorticogram (ECoG) is recorded in a projection of deep structures of the temporal lobe of the brain. Alternation of epileptic activity signal with amplitude > 40 mcV and period of deep depression of signal with amplitude < 20 mcV, duration > 0.5 s, against which background epileptiform discharges are recorded — graph elements with amplitude > 100 mcV with duration ≤ 70 ms testifies to localization of epileptic activity centre in amygdala-hippocampal complex of temporal lobe.
EFFECT: method provides relative short duration, simultaneous operation — during operation, visualization of localization of epileptic focus in amygdala-hippocampal complex.
