SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical communication and specifically to processing a service transmitted in a plurality of frames. To this end, the transmitting device generates a plurality of transmission frames, where the ith frame from the plurality of transmission frames carries the first information, the first information is used to indicate the amount of service data that are transmitted in each of t transmission frames, wherein the t transmission frames include from the (i-t)th frame to the (i-1)th frame in the plurality of transmission frames, i-t > 0 and t ≥ 1, and sends a plurality of transmission frames to a receiving device. Transmission frame carries information on the amount of service data that are transmitted in the transmission frame before the transmission frame. When the transmission frame is lost, the receiving device can determine, based on this information, the amount of service data that is carried in the lost transmission frame, and then determine the service transmission speed so that the service clock information can be determined.

EFFECT: enabling a receiving device to recover a service from a received transmission frame based on certain clock information if the transmission frame is lost.
