FIELD: radar.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar methods of obtaining information on air objects and is intended for selecting air objects (AO) of large azimuthal length. In the disclosed method, in the process of scanning space by scanning the antenna directivity characteristic (ADC) along the azimuth, private arrays of reflected signals are recorded for each range and each pre-assigned azimuthal sector, and then analysing in each pair of adjacent by number of azimuthal sector arrays number M successively fixed reflected signals exceeding detection threshold. To track reflected radio pulses exceeding the detection threshold, signals with linear frequency modulation and compression of these signals in a matched filter are used. Criterion for belonging to objects with a large azimuthal length is the fact of presence in an adjacent pair of reflections of the number of M successively following reflected compressed pulses, which exceed the detection threshold, which is greater than the number of N=Θβ/(ωβTp), where ωβ is angular speed of rotation of ADC, Θβ is the width of the ADC of the radar, Tp is pulse repetition period.
EFFECT: development of method of selection of aerial objects extended in azimuthal coordinate against background of point small-size aerial objects on the basis of counting of number of pulse amplitude exceeding, reflected by object at fixed distance during period of antenna directivity characteristic (ADC) finding in adjacent azimuthal sectors of view.
