FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention employs the principle of compensating for phase incursions caused by movement of aerial objects by multiplying received signals by a special phase multiplier, which also takes into account the possibility of the object having radial and tangential velocity components. If a compensating phase multiplier is correctly chosen, reflected signals become in-phase and the vector of their coherent addition becomes maximum. True values of radial and tangential velocity components of the object are established based on maximisation of the coherent sum of reflected signals.
EFFECT: reliable detection of objects and measurement of their motion parametres over time comparable with the period of one revolution of the antenna on the azimuth, within the entire aerial space and independent of the type of engines of the aerial objects and direction of their motion.
