FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be used for surgical treatment of isolated unstable fractures of the first cervical vertebra. Method involves fixation of lateral atlas masses and reduction of bone fragments. High-speed bur is used to form canals in spine lateral masses C1 into which screws are inserted. Rod is installed between the screws. High-speed bur is used for decortication and formation of a canal in the C2 vertebra process. Wire is delivered through the hole made in the C2 vertebra. Wire is fixed on the rod. Wire loop formed during the vertebral fixation is tightened under the rod between the lateral masses C1 of the vertebra.
EFFECT: method provides osteosynthesis and reduction of C1 vertebra fragments without expanding the surgical intervention volume by means of transpedicular fixation of C2 vertebra, which eliminates rotation block in atlantoaxial joints, prevents atlantoaxial instability and reduces risk of vertebral artery damage, screw malpositions when installed through C2 vertebra pedicles.
