FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic engineering and can be used for protection of hydraulic structures, prevention of undermining on the outer side of the river turn, when the outer side will always be more strongly washed away than the inner side of the river turn, due to centrifugal forces, bases of low-pressure earthen dams of engineering protection of rivers, from flooding of adjacent territories due to blocking of river bed with floating trees and large debris. Device for protection of low-pressure earthen dams from floating trees and large debris, including cross-shaped reinforced concrete elements with metal rods, according to the invention has a group of arc-shaped guides with turn through 90° to the upper slope of the dam, the group is installed in a dangerous place where the river current could wash away the foundation of a low-pressure earthen dam, ledges of these guides are made with a height and with a pitch of not more than 30 cm, in a cross section they have the shape of isosceles triangles, with a slope towards the river. Guides have a width of not more than 7 cm and are located at a distance of not more than 2 m, at that, each guide is installed on cross-shaped reinforced concrete elements with their increasing height from the river bottom to the dam upper slope, and metal rods are made in form of non-pulling anchors.
EFFECT: invention provides protection of a low-pressure earthen dam and provides the possibility of retaining floating trees and large debris for their transportation to the river bank through a low-pressure earthen dam with subsequent utilization in order to prevent emergencies.
