FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nature protection, hydraulic engineering and hydrology and can be used to protect bridge and hydraulic structures on rivers in order to intercept floating debris, trees, bushes, driftwood. Practical application of the invention will make it possible to ensure safety of the structures operation, to reduce the probability of emergencies and possible flooding of the adjacent territories. Method of protecting bridge structures on rivers includes creating a number of protective devices in front of bridge and hydraulic structures on rivers in the form of multi-support reinforced concrete beams 1, mounted at a distance, made cross-shaped, equipped in their design with additional intercepting elements mounted on main reinforced concrete beam 1 in pre-made holes. Cross-shaped elements are made in the form of protective bulls with a free zone, which are arranged on rectilinear sections of the river and side branches. Cross-shaped beams are arranged above the water level in river by 0.20-0.25 m, which provides more effective retention of floating debris and trees. For maximum stability at passage of floods, ice, large trees cross-shaped beams 1 contain an additional element in the form of longitudinal reinforced concrete beam 5 arranged on the whole width of the river.

EFFECT: advantage of the proposed invention is the possibility of interception of smaller floating debris, trees and other inclusions due to arrangement of additional intercepting elements in the form of “hedgehogs” mounted on the main reinforced concrete beam, as well as high efficiency of protection of bridge and hydraulic structures on rivers.
