FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for production of steel with low phosphorus content. In the method, along with the injection of gaseous hydrogen, gaseous hydrocarbon or a mixture of these gases into the molten iron-containing material in the container, slag-forming agent and oxygen source are fed for dephosphorization of molten iron-containing material and obtaining dephosphorized molten iron-containing material. After dephosphorization slag is separated from dephosphorized molten iron-containing raw material, wherein molten iron-containing raw material is obtained by melting solid iron-containing raw material in form of scrap or reduced iron, wherein amount of gaseous hydrogen, gaseous hydrocarbon or mixture of these gases is supplied with flow rate from 3 to 10 vol.% of oxygen flow rate.
EFFECT: use of reduced iron obtained using a reducing agent which contains less carbon.
