FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of refining molten iron-containing material. In the method, raw molten iron-containing raw material with carbon concentration [C]i of 0.5-3.0 wt.%, including both said values, is placed into a vessel and oxygen is blown into raw molten iron-containing raw material at atmospheric pressure with simultaneous blowing of gaseous hydrogen, gaseous hydrocarbon or gaseous mixture of these gases with a flow rate of 0.1 to 0.3 nm3/min per ton of molten iron-containing material for decarbonisation and denitrogenation of raw molten iron-containing material, wherein molten iron-containing raw material is subjected to decarbonisation and denitrogenation until concentration of [N]f nitrogen in the treated molten iron-containing raw material is equal to 30 ppm wt. or less.
EFFECT: possibility of stably producing low-nitrogen steel under condition of using increased amount of solid iron-containing raw material without considerable reduction of productivity and increase of costs and without increase in amount of formed slag and amount of formed CO2.
