FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of solid electrolytes, complex luminophore precursors, for synthesis of graphite-like C-N-H-containing compounds. Method of producing hydrates of dodecahydro-closo-dodecaborates of transition metals of composition M[B12H12]⋅nH2O, where M = Zn, Cd; n = 12, if M = Zn; n = 6, if M = Cd, involves reaction of dodecahydro-closo-dodecaborate of silver, mixed with water, with the corresponding metal, taken in molar ratio of salt to metal of 1 to 1.05. Solution is then filtered from the grey precipitate of metallic silver, the target compound is evaporated from the solution in air and dried at 20-30 °C to constant weight.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain zinc and cadmium dodecahydro-closo-dodecaborates by a fast, safe and simple method with high output of the end product.
