FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine, namely to ophthalmology. 2-3 drops of 0.4% inocaine are instilled into rabbits in the conjunctival cavity. Open-type Pasteur pipette with a design capacity of 1 ml is cut with the help of scissors and ground with emery paper so that the diameter of the lower part of pipette is 2 mm. Pipette is filled with solution of 3% acetic acid, and the acid is instilled into the pericentral cornea; the exposure time is 60 seconds. Immediately after chemical reaction, all animals are washed with 0.9% sodium chloride solution at room temperature for 15 minutes. After exposure to acetic acid 3%, a chemical acid burn of regular rounded shape is formed in the interaction area.
EFFECT: method enables optimizing and increasing the efficiency of simulating a chemical burn, which in turn enables to obtain a model of a chemical burn of the cornea in conditions as close as possible to natural conditions.
