FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna measurements and can be used to study the beam pattern of transmitting and receiving antennas mounted on various carriers and platforms by flying around them using a UAV. UAV with on-board measuring equipment performs flight in a fully automatic mode along a pre-programmed trajectory lying on a plane, the normal to which coincides with the direction to the phase centre of the investigated antenna, wherein UAV is positioned relative to investigated antenna based on images of light beacons and target, coordinates of which are tied to coordinates of a fixed and pre-set platform with an investigated antenna operating for emission or reception in a dedicated sector of space, during the flyby, the direction to the investigated antenna phase centre is determined, to which the measuring antenna is directed by means of the rotary support, and data of measurement results with reference to time and coordinates are recorded in onboard storage of UAV.

EFFECT: high noise immunity and reliability of measurements.
