SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology. Disclosed is the use of an ophthalmic composition for topical application containing xanthan gum in amount of 0.7 % to 5.0 % (weight/volume) and netilmicin or its salts, for treating an eye pathology associated with an inflammatory condition of the anterior segment of the eye in the presence of a bacterial infection, where said composition is used in a patient in need thereof twice a day or once a day. Also disclosed is a version of said use, which uses an ophthalmic composition additionally containing dexamethasone, wherein said composition is used in a patient in need thereof in dose of 0.100 mg/day to 0.540 mg/day of netilmicin and 0.03 mg/day to 0.18 mg/day of dexamethasone.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the dosage regimen, increase the contact time and synergistically increase the effectiveness of the active ingredient.
