FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and aims at creating and maintaining intraocular fluid outflow tracts in glaucoma surgery. During hypotensive intervention for glaucoma of penetrating or non-penetrating type implant based on a copolymer of lactic and glycolic acids is placed and fixed with a surgical thread under the surface scleral flap with a long axis perpendicular to the limb, implant has a biodegradation period of up to 6 months, a solid structure, is made in the form of a cylinder with length of 2-10 mm and a cross section of 0.4-0.5 mm, contains 0.5-1.0 mg of dexamethasone, wherein it is possible to place several implants under a superficial scleral flap with simultaneous fixation to each other and to an underlying sclera with a surgical suture. Superficial scleral flap is fixed with interrupted sutures. Conjunctival incision is hermetically sutured.
EFFECT: method provides higher efficiency of drainage surgery of glaucoma due to creation and long-term maintenance of intraocular fluid outflow tracts.
