METHOD FOR NON-CONTACT SEARCH OF LEAKAGE POINT FROM PIPELINES AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC F17D5/06 G01N27/82

Abstract RU 2837183 C1

FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a device for determining the location of fluid leakage from a pipeline, for example, oil pipelines, heating mains. Method is carried out using the disclosed device. For this purpose, the electric current generator excites electromagnetic radiation in the pipeline in two frequency ranges. Receiver is installed above the proposed place of passage of the pipeline, which contains a unit of electromagnetic field sensors, made in the form of three mutually orthogonal sensors, and an additional electromagnetic field sensor. Orientation of the electromagnetic induction vector and the level of intensity of the electromagnetic field emitted by the pipeline are measured in an electromagnetic field sensor unit tuned to a low signal frequency, and in an additional electromagnetic field sensor tuned to a high signal frequency. Above the pipeline along its intended route, the receiver is moved to a new measurement point located above the axis of the pipeline, and the housing of the receiver with the unit of sensors is placed above the axis of the pipeline, and the additional sensor of the electromagnetic field is placed on a line perpendicular to the axis of the route at a fixed distance from the unit of sensors. Orientation of the electromagnetic induction vector and the electromagnetic field intensity level is measured in the electromagnetic field sensor unit and in the additional electromagnetic field sensor at the new measurement point. Steps of moving the receiver housing over the pipeline along its intended path, determined by measurements from the electromagnetic field sensor unit, are repeated, and measuring orientation of electromagnetic induction vector and level of intensity of electromagnetic field required number of times. When detecting changes in the magnitude of the electromagnetic induction vector and the level of intensity of the electromagnetic field on the additional electromagnetic field sensor, a maximum of the signal is determined by moving the receiver over the pipeline along its intended route. Location of the leak is determined from the maximum level of intensity of the electromagnetic field on the additional sensor of the electromagnetic field.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method for contactless search of a leakage point from pipelines.
