FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to navigation and is intended to determine the azimuth angle. Essence of the disclosed gyrocompass is that its design additionally includes: a platform rotation limiter, made in the form of a disk rotating coaxially with the platform, with a protrusion on one of its sides, wherein the protrusion on the platform rotation limiter is made with possibility of contact with the support in the form of a protrusion on the platform to limit the platform rotation relative to the rotation limiter within angle of 180°; second motor, providing rotation limiter; first locking device, providing fixation of the rotation limiter in an arbitrary position relative to the base; second locking device, providing fixation of the platform relative to the rotation limiter in the position on the stop; first end sensor for fixing the position when the platform protrusion is in contact with one side of the protrusion on the turn limiter; second end sensor for fixing the position when the platform protrusion is in contact with the opposite side of the protrusion on the rotation limiter; control and indication unit.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the azimuth angle and shorter measurement time.
